Purdue Men\'s Lacrosse Hires New Head Coach

Purdue Men's Lacrosse team is proud to announce the hiring of a new head coach. Michael Sanderson has accepted the offer to begin coaching the Boilermakers this fall in preparation of the 2015 season in Division 1 of the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA). As the Boilermakers are working to bounce back after last year's campaign, Coach Sanderson is aiming to take them back to the National Tournament.

Purdue Men's Lacrosse team is proud to announce the hiring of a new head coach. Michael Sanderson has accepted the offer to begin coaching the Boilermakers this fall in preparation of the 2015 season in Division 1 of the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA). As the Boilermakers are working to bounce back after last year's campaign, Coach Sanderson is aiming to take them back to the National Tournament. 

Sanderson was the Head Assistant Defensive Coach at Michigan State University. He helped MSU reach the Quarterfinals the past two seasons at the National MCLA Tournament allowing 6.1 and 6.9 goals in 2012 and 2013 respectively. He played for The College at Brockport for 4 years at the NCAA DIII level before beginning his coaching career there. Sanderson has a strong background in defense and was honored as the Defensive Player of the year for Brockport in 2011. 

Coach Sanderson and the team are excited to see how the upcoming season turns out.

Purdue’s Head Coach Resigns

Trevor Rainville has decided to step down as the head coach of the Purdue Men’s Lacrosse team. After arriving in the summer of 2012, Coach Rainville led the Boilermakers to the GRLC conference playoffs in the spring of 2013 where they would eventually win the GRLC conference tournament and a trip to the National Tournament. The team wishes Trevor the best of luck in his future endeavors and he will always be a part of the Purdue Lacrosse family.

Four Boilers Honored by GRLC

The GRLC conference has announced its Division 1 All-Conference players 2014 season and four Boilermakers were selected. Greg Behning was named a second team all-conference attackman for the second straight year, while Dan Sahm was named the second team all-conference LSM. Tim Scapin and Graham Galbreath were named third team and honorable mention players on defense, respectively. Congratulations Boilers!
